Welcome to Parental Involvement at Swain House Primary School

My name is Mrs Catherine Cook and I am the Parental Involvement Officer here at Swain House Primary School. I am here for all parents and guardians whether you stay at home, work full or part time.

What is Parental Involvement?

At Swain House Primary School we aim to engage and support families to enable their child to reach their full potential. The Parental Involvement Officer works alongside parents/guardians to help them with issues such as parenting, attendance, concerns around children’s health etc. Support includes working with the School Nurse who holds regular drop-in sessions, organising courses either in school or in the wider community, e.g., The Family Links Nurturing Programme, Family Cookery, First Aid, and signposting families to appropriate outside agencies.

Parents are encouraged to play active roles in the ‘Friends of Swain House’ (FoSH) and to attend regular events that are organised by them, such as school discos and coffee mornings etc.

There are also opportunities for parents and guardians to volunteer in school and the Parental Involvement Officer can help if you are interested.

If you want to contact Mrs Cook, please telephone school or call in at the office.
